The podcast titled “ADHD an Open Letter” combines information about ADHD, stories from articles and other media, and my own experiences and commentary to teach about women with ADHD and their struggles, stigma and successes. ![]() ![]() I had hoped that Jetstream would explain how Sam – a seemingly honorable warrior – got tied up with a shady group like World Marshal. The only new parts of Jetstream are the story cutscenes, which features a few snippets of fresh dialogue from Monsoon and the senator. ![]() Remember the sewer? What about the helipad? The pagoda? Well, you get to visit all of those places again! Along the way, you will fight the exact same enemies, including three boss fights that are just recycled from the base game – Blade Wolf, Metal Gear RAY, and the senator. The only way you get stronger is through some bumps to your health and blade mode meters. You don’t get to purchase any upgrades or new abilities, so the move list is the same at the end as the beginning. Sam’s arsenal isn’t very big when you first begin, and it stays that way. The moves you use may be slightly different, but it’s the same song and dance. You still want to hack away at bad guys, block their attacks, and wait for the opportunity to chop them up in Blade Mode. Sam is a badass, and his quick draw moves are cool, but that isn't enough. While these are neat additions, they don’t drastically alter your approach to combat. For instance, he has a regular dodge roll, can charge his heavy attacks, and has a double-jump. The main reason to play Jetstream is to experience playing as Sam, who has a slightly different approach to combat than Raiden. Setting my issues with the Rising’s core gameplay (of which I have several), Jetstream is just a shameless cash-grab. Unfortunately, Jetstream is a disappointment on every level. 6.Jetstream Sam is the closest thing to an actual character in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, so I was looking forward to seeing what new tricks he brings to battle, and how this DLC expands on his backstory. Overall, it will extend your play time by up to an hour and a half, but the frustration you'll get from some of the fights will take over quickly. I have killed 10 hours trying to beat him. Very rarely will he use any other attack. He will repeatedly spam his unblock-able grab and flame punch attack so you'll be dodging for the most part. Once he goes into kaioken, you're done, you've lost. The final fight is Armstrong, and if you're trying to get the no damage trophy, you'll be in for hell. And now comes the part that frustrates me the most. ![]() It makes it so frustrating when you've got to block repeatedly. Sam controls a little sluggishly and why would they lower the amount of time you can block for. And then we fall into the faults with the DLC. All the enemies attack a little harder so you've got to pay more attention. It works like Ripper Mode but you can use it whenever you want. It was interesting to play as Sam and it helped give a little back story for him. All I want if there is going to be another DLC is more story, more action, and how about seeing some of the other bosses in the game. I did like seeing Sam's side of the story, that was really cool. I expected to fight Raiden or something like I was repeating the original story mode, that would of been amazing! but what I got was a "before anything happened" story. Overall, this isn't bad, but it isn't good either, I mean it is Metal Gear Rising, a very action like game, this just doesn't have the amount of action I wanted. all that and Sam is a bit hard to control with all of his attacks. There are a few bosses but they are basically all repeats such as LQ-84i, Metal Gear Ray and Steven Armstrong, THATS IT (not that I was expecting more but I was just expecting more story). You can't upgrade Sam, even though you get battle points and it feels like it isn't worth it all. They give you only about an hour of gameplay and 20 more minutes of cutscenes, and another 20 if you add VR missions. My total gameplay time in the results added up to 50:01:97. I love MGR:R, but this DLC is a colossal disappointment. This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. ![]()

Ms monopoly 2406/30/2023 ![]() ![]() In 2016, the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission and New Kensington dedicated a historical marker to Kwolek on Seventh Street in New Kensington, near her childhood home. In addition to inventing Kevlar, Kwolek contributed to the development of the fibers Lycra, Spandex, Nomex and Kapton. In 1999, Kwolek was given the Lemelson-MIT Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to polymer science. Kwolek, a chemist, invented the synthetic fiber Kevlar while working for DuPont in 1965. Monopoly, properties are replaced by inventions and innovations created by women, including WiFi, chocolate chip cookies and Kevlar - the main ingredient in bulletproof vests invented by the late New Kensington native Stephanie Kwolek. Monopoly is an advocate whose mission is to invest in female entrepreneurs,” Hasbro said of its latest version of the popular board game. The game, which goes on sale later in the year (pre-sales for the item began on Monday), is mostly a collectors’ edition, and Monopoly fiends will want to grab a copy, if only because it’s apparently the first official Monopoly game that features a single woman on the box top.The first game in the 84-year-old Monopoly franchise to celebrate women trailblazers will hit store shelves soon under the name Ms. The real “gender wage gap” comes over the course of a career, because women are more likely to choose lower-paying, more flexible occupations, and take time out to raise children.īut Hasbro clearly isn’t digging that deeply. Economists don’t recognize a $.30 “gender wage gap” and have long insisted that women are routinely paid the same as men who do the same job with the same level of commitment. It’s also a little odd to suggest that disempowered women rely on a paternal “Rich Uncle Pennybags” to help correct workplace shortcomings - if there are such things. Of course, a female-branded game does seem counter-productive to the aims of modern feminism, particularly given that the game plays into the outdated notion of a “gender binary.” Today’s “intersectional” feminists could happily remind Hasbro that there are something like 37 genders and that movement between them is fluid because gender is a “social construct” or something. Monopoly compete to control innovations made by women and products from female-led companies, effectively charging other players to use things like WiFi and chocolate chip cookies. Instead of the familiar properties like Boardwalk and Park Place, players of Ms. Monopoly, they’ll have to do it on the backs of women. But if male players want to come out ahead in Ms. Men are, of course, welcome to play, Hasbro says, and there’s plenty of opportunities for both genders to make money. It’s “a fun new take on the game that creates a world where women have an advantage often enjoyed by men,” the company said in a statement emailed to major news organizations. The idea is to create a game where women make more than men, the first game to do so, according to Hasbro,” CNN reports. “Unlike the classic game, women will collect 240 Monopoly bucks when they pass ‘go,’ while male players will collect the usual 200. The theory is that women make only around $.70 for every dollar men make in the real world, so Monopoly will give them an advantage. Monopoly,” unveiled this week, will celebrate “women’s empowerment” by reconfiguring the classic Monopoly board to be more “female-friendly,” including bumping the pay of female players who make it all the way around the board’s list of properties by rewarding them with extra pay. Feminists looking to close the gender wage gap in classic board games rejoice: a new version of Monopoly will pay women $40 more for passing “Go,” in an effort to make up for the financial oppression women suffer in the workplace.ĬNN reports that “Ms. ![]()

El patio rest6/30/2023 ![]() ![]() The best I can say about El Patio is that the quality of the food is inconsistent. every year visiting friends and relatives. ![]() I know Argentine food very well because I grew up and lived in Argentina for 20+ years, and I spend at least 1 month in Argentina. I have been going to this restaurant for about 10 years and have tried most items on the menu. And I'll keep going back for more supplies and a "cafecito cortado with a medialuna." More In conclusion, it's a good place for a bite but maybe not for a fancy meal out. But their ensalada rusa (russian salad: diced potatoes & carrots with peas mixed with some mayonnaise) - which is one of Argentina's standard potato salads - is really good and goes well with most everything. Their french fries are not home made (maybe frozen?) and their salads are not put together but placed on the plate for you to mix which is us they almost always have hard tomatoes. Their beef milanesa was good but there is always the chance of it being a little tough, and their tortilla (potato omelette) is bleh. I've also had their milanesa de pollo a la napolitana (with ham, tomato sauce and cheese on top) and it was delicious. ![]() From the menu I've tried their parilla which is ok, not great but pretty tasty, and their two "small sides" are really regular size and perfect for 2 people. I had one and it was good, and any of these many options are great for takeout. They have a cake fridge where dulce de leche cakes abound, a freezer for argentine pasta and empanada dough supplies, and a chilled display for other sweet and savory choices which you can pick for your cafe break if you like: alfajores, small cake pastries, churros (straight, not curly), empanadas of various fillings and also "tartas" which are the Argentine version of british style cold pies or pasties, filled with a variety of veggies and some with ham. I like having their coffee with a "tostado" that are thin dough sandwiches, toasted (usually ham and/or cheese), or some of their delicious (but smallish) french style pastries called "facturas".you get to choose from their fresh display. The restaurant is family friendly and nicely put together clean bathrooms tv sets for any soccer games. once you step inside you just have to stop for a bite. I go to El Patio often as I stock up on Argentine products from their small and handy grocery corner (Sidra, Express and Traviata crackers, Opera cookies, Vacalin and San Ignacio dulce de leche, and the indispensable Fargo and La Saltena empanada dough disks!!!). Look up pictures of rachel carson6/29/2023 ![]() ![]() Such images often showed the author outdoors, in the process of beachcombing, birding, or tide-pooling. ![]() The latter figure, in fact, resembles publicity images of Carson that had been circulating on book jackets, advertisements, and magazine profiles ever since the 1951 publication of The Sea Around Us. One, clad in the outlandish hat and dress of a socialite, cradles a few books in her arms as the other, in a less glamorous ensemble of trench coat, baseball cap, and sunglasses, contemplates the horizon. 3 The image shows two women on the deck of a cruise ship facing a picturesque sunset. ![]() Zimmer throws a humorous light onto the often all-too-stern subject of American nature writing. Following closely on the heels of two lyrical meditations on the ecology of the shoreline-Carson's The Edge of the Sea (1955) and Anne Morrow Lindbergh's A Gift from the Sea (1955)-cartoonist F. However, a cartoon that appeared in the 15 January, 1956 edition of the New York Times Book Review, suggests that the environmental awakening created by Carson's oeuvre in the 1950s may be surprisingly different from what we have previously imagined. But the unarticulated assumption in most critical readings of Carson is that her words reached readers very much like ourselves, all too ready to hear and to believe in the ecocentric message that we find so deeply engaging in her work. But amid the discussions of Carson's extraordinary influence and reputation, an important question often goes unexplored: what did Carson's readers actually do with her books? Alex Lockwood's recent article, describing Silent Spring's powerful mobilization of “public feelings” against a mid-century culture which relentlessly individualized affect, speaks powerfully to Carson's ability to link the private world of reading with the public realm of politics. 1 Lear's epithet seems particularly apt since, as she points out, Carson's entire literary career-including the three bestselling books on marine life she published before Silent Spring-was devoted to articulating and championing an ecological worldview to which few of her readers had ever really been exposed. Its author, who was hailed in her time as everything from a modern-day Harriet Beecher Stowe to a dangerous communist threat, has been the subject of numerous biographies which have described her variously as a “witness for nature” (Linda Lear, 1997), a “gentle subversive” (Mark Lytle, 2007), and, most recently, an unlikely literary crusader caught up in a political earthquake of postwar politics (William Souder, 2012). It is a work celebrated for many things: its deft blending of science and poetry, its trenchant analysis of the corporate-sponsored research that encouraged Americans to spray first and ask questions later, and the critical role it played in catalyzing the environmental movement in the United States. Silent Spring, Rachel Carson's ground-breaking literary exposé about the dangers of synthetic pesticides, turns 51 this year. Yet they also reveal much about our contemporary relationship to the world's oceans, which remain sites of both enduring wonder and extraordinary exploitation. This commodification of the ocean, and of Carson's ecocentric message, both enabled and frustrated her attempts to promote ecological literacy. As new technologies allowed military and scientific researchers to see deeper into the oceanic depths than ever before, images of the open ocean were domesticated through consumer markets into viewable, readable, and even wearable forms. ![]() While these items inspired and expressed the “sense of wonder” that was critical to Carson's ecological aesthetic, I argue, they also subsumed the new “frontier” of the world's oceans into the technological imperialism of the post-World War II United States. This essay builds upon that idea, showing how Carson's The Sea Around Us (1951) and The Edge of the Sea (1955) not only shaped public understandings of ocean ecology, but also spurred a public passion for all things oceanographic, best embodied in a wave of “Carsonalia”-consumer items and experiences ranging from hats, to Book of the Month Club editions, to liner notes for the NBC Symphony's recording of Debussy's La Mer. Recent scholarship on the work of the great nature writer, Rachel Carson, posits that her landmark book, Silent Spring (1962)-often credited with igniting the modern environmental movement-is best understood in the context of her earlier, extraordinarily popular publications on the natural history of the oceans, which helped establish her as a talented and trustworthy translator of scientific concepts into literary prose. ![]()
